Where Does Most Volcanic Activity on Earth Happen?

Did you know that most of Earth’s volcanic activity doesn’t happen on land but underwater? That’s right, the oceans are hiding a fiery secret. About 75% of volcanic activity occurs along the mid-ocean ridges, where tectonic plates pull apart, creating underwater volcanoes. Think of it as the planet’s own secret lava lamp.
