Why Do We Love Stories More Than Data?

by Danny Ballan | Jan 19, 2025 | Daily Shorts

Did you know humans are hardwired to love stories? It’s true! Give someone a spreadsheet, and they’ll yawn. Wrap that data in a story, and suddenly they’re hooked. This is called narrative bias. Even marketers use this trick. That heartwarming ad about a puppy reunited with its owner? It’s there to sell dog food, but you’ll remember the story, not the brand. So next time you hear a great tale, ask yourself: is it storytelling, or is someone selling me something? I hope you learned something you didn’t know about.
