That satisfying pop may annoy people, but it won’t give you arthritis. Science shows that cracking your knuckles doesn’t damage your joints—it just releases gas bubbles in the synovial fluid. So, next time someone tells you to stop to “save your fingers,” you can politely share the facts.

3. Lightning Never Strikes the Same Place Twice
The idea that lightning avoids hitting the same spot twice is comforting but completely false. In fact, structures like the Empire State Building get struck dozens of times a year. Lightning follows the path of least resistance, meaning it can strike the same place over and over.

4. Gum Takes Seven Years to Digest
Your digestive system is efficient—even with gum. While it’s true that gum doesn’t break down like other foods, it still passes through your body within a day or two. Swallowing gum occasionally won’t hurt you, but it’s probably best to avoid making it a habit.

Despite the fears surrounding phone radiation, there’s no strong evidence linking mobile phones to brain cancer. Phones emit non-ionizing radiation, which isn’t powerful enough to damage DNA or cause mutations. The real risks with phones? Eye strain, poor posture, and disrupted sleep—not cancer.
